Paradise Lost
Devastating forest fires are a fact of life in Northern California. The ‘Camp’ fire in November 2018 destroyed 18,804 structures, including the town of Paradise, with the loss of 86 lives. The ‘Tubbs’ fire of October 2017 destroyed 5,643 structures with the loss of 22 lives. These photos capture my view from the relative safety of the San Francisco Bay Area.
